Biography
​
Alex has been engaged in the practice of law in Baxley since 1978, and has consistently been rated as an AV® Preeminent* attorney for over 30 years. His practice areas include business, real estate, timber, banking, corporate, probate, administrative and municipal law.
​
Alex is a native of Baxley, graduating from Appling County High School, the University of Georgia Terry College of Business, and UGA School of Law. He is a director of Community Bank of Georgia, and previously served in directorships of SunTrust Banks of Southeast Georgia and Baxley State Bank.
​
For many years, Alex has served as Counsel to the City of Baxley, Development Authority of Appling County, Community Bank of Georgia, and Southeast Georgia Regional Development Authority. He also represents many business and real estate entities in the Southeast Georgia area.
Alex was elected three times as Solicitor of the State Court of Appling County, holding office from 1983 to 1993, and has served as Juvenile Court Judge, a part-time position, since 1993.
Additionally, Alex has been highly involved in State Bar activities such as serving for three years on the Attorney Disciplinary Panel and ten years as a member of the Board of Governors, with service on various committees; as well as being a former vice-president of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
